The Competency Center, owned and operated by COMGUARD ICT Ltd. and supported by its main partner, McAfee, focuses on testing, presenting and designing IT security solutions.

Its partners and end customers from businesses and Government institutions may use the Center to test the full portfolio of McAfee products in a simulated real-life operation. The Competency Center has been founded with the support of the Operational Program Enterprise and Innovations and it opened in July 2011.

We are able to offer customers which are interested in McAfee solution “best practices” designed for “use cases” and complex consulting service including training, and also to provide them with comprehensive background for implementation and product testing.”

Goals of Competency Center are to provide customers with information about new security threats and future threats, to introduce them new security technologies, to help them to respond faster to new security risks and regulatory requests. Feedback from our customers and their experiences helps us to develop and to prepare solutions which are built for their own needs.

The Competency Center will be able to simulate the real-life operation of a concrete environment and test the functionality of the proposed solution on it before practical deployment. The Center’s experts will also be able to propose comprehensive security strategies based on products by McAfee and other leading manufacturers, as well as localize International solutions to suit the local language, legislation, and technical requirements. The expert team will also cooperate with other research facilities and companies within the Czech Republic.

The Center is going to include a large capacity research lab for simulation and testing of ICT solutions, meeting rooms, lecture and training facilities with a capacity of up to 240 participants, and a video-conferencing facility in the second part of the project. Its network infrastructure is based on Cisco technology, the application layer uses Microsoft products and the virtualization environment is provided by VMware.

Apart from the complete portfolio of McAfee products, the Center also offers technology by other vendors, especially the members of McAfee Security Innovation Alliance (SIA).
